NYC Reads Family Ambassador Program (Informational Only)

Join a learning experience that equips you with the knowledge and tools to elevate your child's reading. Then, use this knowledge to host events in your community to help other families become reading champions, too. Families of students in 3K-5th grade are eligible. Sign up here to join online. Each Thursday from February 29 to May 2 features a different topic.

Launched in partnership with Reading Partners and the Office of Family and Community Engagement (FACE).

Brooklyn Book Bodega will join the third annual BKCB2 Health Fair with a book giveaway for ages 0-18. Held in partnership with the Fort Greene Park Conservancy, there will also be free health screenings, blood pressure testing, healthy eating tips, yoga, children’s activities, music, and more. Please sign up to come to our Brooklyn Navy Yard Book Hub to take as many books as you can carry. *Unfortunately, we are UNABLE to accommodate anyone under 10 in this space. If you want to bring your children under 10, please join us at a different event.

Co-hosted by NYCHA Healthy Start Program and the Office of Child Safety and Injury Prevention, this initiative helps raise awareness about the risks associated with unsafe sleep practices. Join Brooklyn Book Bodega for a Big Book Party featuring Peruvian music! Starting at 12:30 p.m., two-time Latin Grammy nominee Araceli Poma and her band will perform original selections highlighting traditional instruments, local puppets, and bilingual storytelling through music. Brooklyn Bridge Parents has partnered with the DUMBO Improvement District for the sixth annual DUMBO Drop on car-free streets leading to Washington Street. Brooklyn Book Bodega will be there for the second year with a book giveaway table, great for ages 0-14. Rain or shine! No RSVP needed. Find more info here.
